Let The Thinly-Sourced Rumor-Mongering Begin!

Would it be irresponsible to link to a Capitol Blue story simply because it bolsters my belief system, even though Capitol Blue has been egregiously wrong in the past?

It would be irresponsible not to:

An uncivil war rages inside the walls of the West Wing of the White House, a bitter, acrimonious war driven by a failed agenda, destroyed credibility, dwindling public support and a President who lapses into Alzheimer-like periods of incoherent babbling...

The war erupted into full-blown shout fests at Camp David this past weekend where decorum broke down in staff meetings and longtime aides threatened to quit unless Rove goes...

White House staff members say the White House is “like a wartime bunker” where shell-shocked aides hide from those who disagree with their actions and office pools speculate on how long certain senior aides will last.

Bush, whose obscenity-laced temper tantrums increase with each new setback and scandal, abruptly ended one Camp David meeting by telling everyone in the room to “go fuck yourselves” before he stalked out of the room.

Senior aides describe Bush as increasingly “edgy” or “nervous” or “unfocused.” They say the President goes from apparent coherent thought one moment to aimless rambles about political enemies and those who are “out to get me.”

“It’s worse than the days when Ronald Reagan’s Alzheimer’s began setting in,” one longtime GOP operative told me privately this week. “You don’t know if he’s going to be coherent from one moment to the next. What scares me is if he lapses into one of those fogs during a public appearance.”

Wouldn't that be fun? Bush turns into a jibbering goon, muttering about his political enemies like an elderly Nixon? I'd pay money to see that.

You know something has happened to Fearless Leader, he wasn't as "disorien ta-ted" during the Anne Richards debate or vs Gore. What a difference...what's up with that?
Let the circular/jerkular firing squad begin.

Where is Bush's god now? Has he been forsaken in his time of need? Look on the bright side of life.....

Posted by: mom'z at November 2, 2005 11:15 AM

Wow.

So all his public appearances haven't been anything like these "fogs"? I'm having a hard time imagining what could possibly be worse than some of the idiocy I've already witnessed.

I hope he goes for the full Yeltsin.

And this is the person within reach of the nukyular button? I say taser him, and taser him quickly.

Posted by: mk at November 2, 2005 07:40 PM

What scares me is if he lapses into one of those fogs during a public appearance.

It'd scare me too (if this were real), since the 25th Amendment'd be used before you could blink and then Cheney'd be in charge. That's really scary.

___ Media Campaign ___

I have started working again today on getting the message out. As always, I have been expanding my collection of MSM and right
wing media emails, and the list of direct links to online forms. I make additions and corrections as I come across them.

Today I have been writing from scratch. No links, I don't think that a direct link to a story is needed this morning. The MSM is doing it's job (finally) in showing some of the
adminstration's hand in the past few days, and with the Libby court appearance the recent news will be fresh.

Below are on-line forms for the Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, CNN, New American, US News & World Reports, Business Week, NPR:

As far as tactics... I would write _one_ letter, then simply copy and paste it out to as many locations as you have time for. I used a different closing statement for instance when
sending it to a Senator or House Rep. I always include name, addy, phone, email.

My letter today:

There is something seriously wrong in America.

1) The upcoming trial of "Scooter" Libby: He claims he is a busy man and does not remember his contacts or information that was given to him in regards to the Valerie Plame case. He spoke with his boss Richard Cheney. He took notes. He ordered reports on Ms. Plame. He spoke with his aides.

Then when asked... He forgets everything? This man was given a high level position in the White House, as a Presidential aide. With a security clearance.

If he is not guilty, he is completely incompetent. This is the level of personnel President Bush chooses for his top aides? I seriously question the veracity of the White House on _all_ matters. This is inexcusable.

2) Secret Prisons. The White House clearly approves of the use of torture in secret detention facilities. There has already been documented prisoner abuse and deaths from torture in Iraq. There is the "Gitmo" detention facility, where detainees without legal counsel or trial are being held and abused. They have become so depressed and dejected they have stopped eating. Yet Rumsfeld says it is normal for people to go on diets periodically? You don't have to force feed people that are on diets in order to keep them alive. These men are being punished to death for crimes they have never been formally charged for. I would bet money that prisoner treatment in secret facilities is much worse than what the public has seen at "Gitmo", and that is enough to turn my stomach.

3) Outing intelligence resources. The President promised Americans that he would investigate the outing of Ms. Plame. He did nothing. Patrick Fitzgerald has implicated Karl Rove, the President has done nothing. Somebody in the White House is guilty of a high crime against the people of the United States of America. Nobody will come clean, nobody will admit the truth. When "Scooter" Libby was indicted, he was not even fired. He resigned, and the White House expressed their sympathies. What kind of people are these?

4) The war in Iraq is going very poorly. Why are we there? Is it to stop the production of weapons of mass destruction that did not exist? It becomes more and more clear to America that we as a people were lied to by the Bush administration for the purposes of engaging in illegal warfare. People that would lie in order to take a country to war, would lie about anything. Indeed, from all appearance, they lie about virtually _everything_.

5) The budget has run away. Federal spending has been soaring, there is no accountability for where the money is going. Services have been declining. Billions of dollars in development money has been sent to Iraq, and there is virtually nothing to show for it. The money has been stolen, embezzled, or misspent.

Billions of dollars were appropriated for the victims of hurricane Katrina. The contracts were awarded on a no-bid basis, just like Iraq, the money was given to companies with close ties to the White House. I highly suspect the existence of complicated kickback schemes and racketeering. Judging from the ethical standards this administration goes by, it is safe to assume that like Iraq, much of this money has been stolen from the American people.

Instead of a democracy being led by the people, for the people; our country looks more like it is being led by a gang of hardened criminals. People who want to torture, oppress and suppress their enemies. People who lie, cheat, and steal. People who have no regard for human life. People that lie to engage in war and high crime.

Is this the kind of America _you_ support?

Thank you

Many Americans like me who live in Europe are increasingly emabarrassed about Bush. In Europe the most generous view is that he is a man of very poor judgement, and a man who has such profound difficulty in expressing himelf that people think he has learning difficulties. Most people here think Bush and his friends are dishonest, unChristian and greedy.

In my oppinion,to get rid of W is to be left alone all the time.
Regarding the press conferences,no questions,no remarks,no smiles. No reporters present at the most important WH news briefings...
I think, this measures will reduce to nothing the presidency...
