Thank God Our Leaders Are Completely Different From Saddam Hussein, Part CLXIII

Back in the 1980s, in a relaxed meeting with a group of visiting journalists from the Gulf States, Saddam related an illuminating anecdote. "When I was a child, a man walked through my village without carrying a weapon. An old man came up to him and said, 'Why are you asking for trouble?' He said, 'What do you mean?' The old man replied, 'By walking without a weapon you are asking for people to attack you. Carry a weapon so that no blood with be spilled!'"
-- Out of the Ashes by Andrew and Patrick Cockburn, p. 104

"Terrorist attacks are not caused by the use of strength. They are invited by the perception of weakness."

-- Dick Cheney, July 16, 2004

Cheney is staing the obvious cultural attitude of those who were raised in a male gangsterland hegemony. Even in this country when you drive down the highway certain drivers feel the need to "outdrive" perceived slower drivers. Safety means nothing to these people. How do we defend against those types, when they perceive negotiation as a weakness to be bullied?
If we shouldn't show a strong face (without attacking) how should we get thier respect?
I dare say we cannot. We will defend if they attack, I hope.

I THINK DEFENDING OUR COUNTRY IS A MUST,"BUT"IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE AS THE PEOPLE WHOME ARE THE DIRECT REFLECTION OF OUR ELECTED OFFICALS FROM THE TOP TO BOTTOM,REMEMBER THEY DO WORK FOR THE PEOPLE?( THATS A WHOLE NOTHER STORIE).BACK TO MY POINT,OUR PEOPLE REALLY DO NOT SEE WHAT'S CAUSED THOSE TYPES TO REACT IN SUCH A TERRISTIC MANNER RE-: FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS A EQUAL REACTION,TO BE QUIT BLUNT THIS IS NOT HOW OUR FOUNDING FATHERS INSTILLED IT TO BE ,..EX.THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT TAUGHT TO THE CHILDERIN IN OUR SCHOOLS,OR ABOUT THE LORD THE CREATOR ON ANY LEVEL.I COULD CONTIUE FOR DAYS BUT TO DO SO WOULD BE AGAINTS THE GOVERNMENT.
