Comments: Support Emily Henochowicz

Thanks for passing this along - this lady's bravery and talent make one feel very humble. Gonna pass this along to my children as well.

OT---I like your "Iron Law of Institutions" theory, and was wondering whether you think it had any particular application to the question of why the Dems chose not to bring up the tax cut (extension) issue before the elections.

"Emily Henochowicz, my nominee for Secretary-General of the United Nations"

I certainly share your admiration for her, but as Tony Blair reminded us in a recent BBC interview when he was asked about his future career ambitions: citizens of the P5 (permanent members of the Security Council) are, by rule or custom, ineligible for the Secretary-General's position.

Custom. In much the same way that a sitting member of the House of Lords is unlikely in the extreme to become Prime Minister anytime soon (though I can't imagine what difference that could possibly make).
