Please, please, please tell me you're writing the book for a Broadway musical called Titicut Follies.

I've been doing that for the last 3 years (seriously).

Just to clarify - I've been living in the old nurses quarters. Most of the crazy people areas have been demolished... other than the section taken over by archaeologists (Irony... and to repeat myself - seriously. Although they're using it for admin not research.)

Would this be by any chance be McLean Hospital? And is the project in any way connected with Susanna Kaysen, James Taylor or Robert Lowell?

Former? Somebody screwed up.

Mr. Schwarz, somehow I suspect that the 'long story' to which you allude is quite interesting. I hope one day you will share it.

You have to sleep in Chicago?

McLean is still a functioning mental hospital, so that rules it out.

I thought Oarwell was suggesting that the City of Chicago is itself a giant 19th century former insane asylum. It works for me, except the 'former' part.
