Comments: Works The Same Everywhere

Hey, they acknowledged her "sacrifice," right? That's gotta count for something...

A working class hero is something to be.

Got an email this a.m. which described about how unions saved the people in the plane that ditched in the Hudson last week. The flight crew were all unionized and trained to handle such emergencies, the air traffic controllers were unionized, the ferry crews were unionized. So were the cops on the scene.

And yet how does the media report it? The hero pilot. One man above the rest.

A working class hero is something to be.

Are the pilots unionized?

Every time the union discussion comes up on Slashdot, I push for the unions. For some reason, the entire IT industry, despite every single person depending completely on tool suites that represent hundreds of thousands of hours of cooperative work, somehow the lone wolf theory still rules. Kind of makes IT suck in my opinion.

In defense of the lone wolves, I know why. Look at the last generation of unions and you see money grubbing orgs. seemingly out to blindly get take as much as they can. The only counterarguments I've received say that money is the primary concern of modern unions, not work conditions etc.

MLK day; I hear Bono at the Lincoln Memorial talking about how we realized MLK's dream it makes me wonder why NPR wants me to vomit on myself and crash my truck.

I liked and still like U2's music from 20 plus years ago- you know, when they were still good. Of course even in those days Bono was given to gaseous statements. Just sing, dude.

Bono was given to gaseous statements

Reminds me of a certain Caesar who's about to be crowned.

Appropriate that they had the affair in the monument to the first American emperor.

Human existence is simply variations of the same misery.

patterns multiplying
re-direct our view
endless variations
make it all seem new

Oh well, at least Obama's election means that racism is over!

Somehow you seem to have neglected the (/snark) tag...
