I don't think it's useful for people like me -- who have never heard of Arthur Silber, let alone his sister -- to post condolences on his web site.

Danny - since you comment, I feel inclined to comment back - by asking you to reread part of a sentence from our host Jon -

I hope everyone who admires his writing can stop by today to leave their condolences.

I agree with you that your condolences may not be useful - but wish to explicitly point out that they were not solicited, either.

I only discovered Arthur's blog a couple of weeks ago and found his writings to be powerful and timely. Apparently we cannot add comments on his blog but I hope that he follows this blog and reads my expression of deepest sympathy for his loss.
